Hertsmere Lottery Round Up April Edition

We’re nearly a third of the way through the year already so let’s not waste any more time and kick-start our April news article off with National Pet Month. We’d love to see pictures of all your furry (and not-so-furry) friends, so be sure to tag us in your pictures!

Our Good Cause Cecil’s Horse Sanctuary is dedicated to offering loving permanent homes to horses and ponies who otherwise would have nowhere else to go. You can help support all their hard work by buying a lottery ticket here!

This month is Active for April also! Active for April is Bowel Cancer UK’s annual fundraising campaign where you do something active every day for the whole of April. We have a lot of sports clubs signed up to the lottery which you can find out more about here. Don’t see your local sports club? Get them to sign up today to start supporting them!

World Autism Awareness Day is on April 2nd and our Good Cause Nice 2 Meet Ya help adults with Learning Disabilities or neurodiverse conditions to develop and maintain friendships and relationships. You can support their fantastic work here!

April 13th is National Scrabble Day so keep a look out on our socials for a scrabbled-themed post!

Monday 15th April is International Micro-volunteering Day! What’s micro-volunteering? It’s where you can be flexible with your time and complete small tasks that make up a larger project. Micro-volunteering Day promotes awareness of the micro-volunteering concept and how organisations and individuals can help better the world in bite-sized chunks. Why not see if any of our local Good Causes could use some extra volunteering hands this month? Or head over to our lottery page and help support them by purchasing a ticket.

Did you know that 25% of the food wasted globally could feed all 795 million undernourished people in the world? On April 26th, it is Stop Food Waste Day, and you could be part of the solution by taking part.
