01 November 2024

As the night grows dark and the streets are aglow with festive lighting, there’s an electric feeling in the air!

We hope everyone had a great Diwali and Halloween for those who celebrate, and we look forward to more festive cheer to come, especially with Fireworks Night right around the corner!

Firstly, a congratulations to all our winners last month! We had a number of winners supporting many of our Good Causes such as, Green Connections, Hertfordshire Showband, Potters Bar Crusaders Sports and Social Club, UP! Community and many more! Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and continued to support our Good Causes. Also, a Mx M was selected at random and won an iPhone 16 Pro 128GB! But if you missed out on October’s Super Draw not to worry we’ve got a brand new prize this November…

This month you'll be in with the chance to win an all-new gaming bundle, including a PS5 Pro with the Super Draw! Treat yourself to the perfect Christmas present for a gaming obsessed loved one or an upgrade for yourself! This brand-new PlayStation comes in a bundle packed full of games and accessories, and all enjoyed on a 50" Smart 4k ultra HD TV, for the best gaming experience. Or of course you can take the £1,000 cash alternative, and spend it your way! Get your tickets before Saturday 30th November 2024 for your chance to win! Good luck!

To start off, this month we are recognising Men’s Health Awareness Month, which will include the hotly awaited Movember 2024! Whether you love them or hate them, if you can, grow out your moustache or beard this month for charity and help raise awareness for men’s health issues!

Continuing in the same theme, Friday 1st of November begins National Stress Awareness Week. Did you know happier people tend to volunteer more, helping others and feeling better about their impact? Maybe this stress awareness week is the perfect opportunity for you to volunteer some of your time at your local Good Causes!

From the 4th – 8th November it is Trustee Week! Why not show your support of all the hard work, dedication and time they spend by purchasing ticket from your local Good Cause that is signed up to our community lottery. You can sign up here: Hertsmere Community Lottery and to find out more about Trustee Week, click here: Trustees Week – Showcasing the work of charity trustees.

Social Media Kindness Day takes place on the 9th and World Kindness Day is on the 13th. You can use these days to shout about your local Good Cause online and help raise awareness of all their hard work. Make sure to follow us on our social media channels too so not to miss out on Good Cause updates, lottery winners and Super Draw announcements!

We will also be commemorating Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day on Sunday 10th and Monday 11th respectively this year. We encourage everyone to embrace the traditions of remembrance but also make it your own. Please support our own local Good Cause - the Borehamwood Royal British Legion and their Poppy Appeal this year. Please check out the Poppy Appeal website here: Poppy Appeal - Get involved!

At the end of last month we welcomed in a new Good Cause – Friends of Kenilworth PTA! We’re so glad to have them here with us and their arrival coincides nicely with International Student Day on the 17th of November. Many of our Good Causes are associated with local schools such as Hertswood Academy, Friends of Monksmead, Friends of St Teresa’s and Mount Grace School. All of these organisations do great work to provide an impactful and positive extracurricular experience. So if you have a child or know someone at these schools why not support them by buying a lottery ticket? Can’t see your local school or PTA, get them involved and get winning!

We have a couple of Good Cause birthdays coming up this month, so please join us in celebrating them on their special day! We have much to celebrate and commemorate this November, so please join us for another busy month at Hertsmere Community Lottery.
