Summer has been and gone, now we are into September and the children are going back to school already! Following on from Allotments Week last month, Organic September is running all month, so if you are growing any of your own produce, we would love to see it! International Day of Charity is on Thursday 5th September this year and you could support your local Good Cause by purchasing a ticket here!

The first Friday in September is National Foodbank Day! We have Borehamwood Foodbank, Red Trust Bushey and Gratitude, all of which support our local community through donations.

This next one might be too early for some, but did you know that on September 16th, it is only 100 days till Christmas? For those not in the festive spirit just yet, here is another bit of fun for you, Thursday the 19th is ‘Talk like a Pirate Day’ and I have one question for you – Aarrr you signed up to the community lottery yet?

Friday 20th September is National Fitness Day. We have many different sports clubs and groups on our lottery, so if you can’t see yours, be sure to let them know about us and get them signed up here!

International Day of Sign Language is taking place on Monday the 23rd of September, so if you have been looking for an opportunity to start learning a new language, then here it is! You can find out more about the day from the UNESCO website here: International Day of Sign Languages.

With schools back this month, Cycle to School Week starts on 23rd September. Is your local school taking part? We have a few schools signed up to the community lottery already, but if yours isn’t, then be sure to let them know about us! We are a free online fundraising alternative! September is also home to Macmillan’s Annual Coffee Morning, held on or around 27th! Is your Good Cause taking part in it? Want to find out more? Click the link here to take you to their official webpage, where you can sign up to host or join a pre-existing event.
