August has been and gone, and now we’re into September.

To kick September off, the first Friday is National Foodbank Day! Our Good Cause Borehamwood Foodbank first opened in 2013 and has helped over 9,700 people in the last year alone! Following on from the theme of giving, Tuesday 5 September is International Day of Charity. This date was chosen by the General Assembly of the United Nations to honour the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa, as she devoted her life to helping those in need.

This day is a perfect opportunity for anyone thinking of getting involved in volunteer work! Alternatively, you can sign up to the community lottery and support any of our amazing Good Causes who are helping make a difference in our local community!

It's already been two months since we had Plastic Free July, and this month, on September 16, it is World Clean Up Day. Is your local Good Case getting involved? If so, let us know what they get up to! (For any Christmas lovers, the 16 also happens to be 100 days till Christmas Day! Is it too early to start getting the Christmas decorations out?)
